Annisquam Light 8 x 10

I've been busy painting, but just haven't taken the time to post any on my blog. Stay tuned, I will be posting quite a few in the next several days. The gallery in Rockport wanted some more seascapes, and though I usually resist, as that is not my forte, I have been in the mood lately to do some. I'm trying to do some smaller paintings, in lieu of the economy. I want everyone to be able to afford an original painting.

Three Chicks on the Move SOLD

This is the last of the Rooster trilogy. I had three of these frames that I never found the right use for, now they're off the shelf. I like the movement in this piece. These girls look like they're headed somewhere. So the rooster is just kind of standing there. Hmmmmmm. Maybe I should name them Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte. I'll name the peeking chicken Samantha!!

Peeking Chicken 8 x 10 SOLD

I played around with a couple of frames on this one, and settled on this one. It's a bit ornate, but looks kind of French Country style, so I think it's ok. I love roosters and chickens, and am always looking for photos to paint. Soon, I will be able to take my own photos, as my grandaughter brought home baby chicks a few weeks ago. Looks like only one is a rooster, but at least he'll be close at hand to photograph.

Curly Lily 8 x 10

I love to paint lilies. Strange, as in bouquets, I prefer other flowers, but I love the contrast of the white lily on a black background. I found out today that I sold a small lily, and a rooster at the gallery. Although they are both small pieces, it is good to have some movement. The season in Rockport is just beginning, so I'm hoping that summer will be promising. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have so much space in a gallery.
