Iris 11 x 14

For several days, I have been "incubating" ...researching what I would paint, deciding on frames, sizes, etc. I was gung ho, and ready to go, and then realized I had left most of my paints and brushes in Rockport!!! Not only that, I had left several paintings that were in progress there as well. I must have really been in the clouds when I left. After considering driving the 3-1/2 hours to Rockport, I decided to buy more paints, even though my budget it pretty tight right now. At first, I was quite upset with myself, but after plugging Wayne Dyer's "There is a spiritual solution to every problem" in the car cd player, I simply went with the flow. On my way home, I stopped at the market and decided to buy some flowers to paint - this would certainly help to keep me positive. This iris was just perfect, in the angles of the stem and leaves. I am very happy with the results. This is not a small painting, so I guess, I will not be limiting my posts to small pieces, as long as I complete them in a day.

Another wonderful thing that happened today, is that I learned that I sold a second painting in the Rockport Art Association's Contributing Member show. Considering that I had questioned whether or not I was good enough to display my paintings in such a respected gallery, this has given me great validation. I am so glad that I let go of my frustration and simply went with the flow this morning - it turned out to be a beautiful and productive day. I thanked the iris for sharing it's beauty with me, and now - you! Hope you like it. Namaste!
