You'll see this painting below as Queen of Hearts. I decided to redo it with a little more realism. When a woman is going through the mill of breast cancer healthcare - it's difficult to feel like you are still yourself - like anyone really sees YOU. So the name of this piece now is "See Me"

Here is another piece for the Susan J Komen show. I couldn't decide what to name it - but fb friends came up with "Gratitude" That is perfect!I know that gratitude may not seem like something one associates with breast cancer - but certainly, when the surgery and the treatments are done -there is an immense gratitude for life itself. You never take it for granted again.

Here is the last one in the breast cancer series (at least so far), and my favorite. It's call Qi (pronounced Chi). Qi is the energy flow in your body that is manipulated with both Qigong and Accupuncture. I have had some absoutely amazing treatments that have been So helpful in this journey. I had hoped to actually hal the tumors with this energy work, and I know that is possible, but time was not on my side, so I am doing surgery. I will continue to use these modalities for my healing after surgery. The concept is to remove the blocks in your body that are interfering with your own immune system, so it can do it's work.

Protection - 8" x 8" - $150 - SOLD

This symbol is "Protection". Having breast cancer can feel like you're losing your womanhood, and there is this feeling of not only wanting to protect yourself from the cancer, but of the loss of yourself. This image feels to me like she wants to hide from the ordeal that lies ahead - to not only keep her breast safe, but her identity as well.

Healing 8" x 8" - $150

I haven't painted in a while - It's been a busy summer. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in late June, and after spending the summer doing alternative therapies, I'm now preparing for surgery. The gallery is having a Fall themed show - and since October is Breast Cancer month - I thought I'd do a series on breast cancer, and healing. Here is the first one. The Chinese symbol is the symbol for healing. This and the pieces that will follow are all 8 x 8 with wrapped canvas (no frame)
There will be 9 pieces altogether.
